Within the 10 meter depth contour there are 69,600 hectares of shallow mud flat fit for sea culturing. The major cash aquatic products are of 214 species, 120 families and 21 kinds. Shanwei enjoys an area of 1670 hectares for shoals farming, producing prawn, oyster, jade shellfish, abalone, seahorse and other species.
