Lusi Fishery sits on the northern bank of the mouth of the Yangtze River. It is located to the east of Nantong and only 28 sea miles from the international metropolis of Shanghai. Lusi Fishery, which is famous in China for its rich fishing resources, in one of China's four biggest fisheries. And Lusi Fishery Port is one of China's top six fishing ports. In this regard, Lusi Fishery Port was bestowed with superior conditions for a number of maritime industries, such as the processing of marine products and the manufacturing of bio-chemical products.
Lusi fishery is well known national widely, and supplies 200,000 tons of commercial fishes each year, the output of marine products from Lusi fishery accounts for one third of Jiangsu province's, and half of Nantong's annual output. Lusi fishery is a perfect fishery of lots of precious marine products, such as hair-tail, Chinese herring, pomfret, large/small yellow croaker, swimming crab, and etc. Moreover, the fishery enjoys rich reserves of shellfish resources of over 80,000 tons, which covers clam and four-cornered clam with the title of “Best Taste in the World”, Xi Shi She, razor shell, granulous ark, fresh-water snail, and etc. Among them, the total export of clam has occupied over 60% in China.
In Lusi fishery port, there have more than 4,000 local marine fishing boats and ships of Nantong city and Yancheng city, besides these, there have a number of fishing ships from Lianyungang city, Shandong province, Liaoning province, and Zhejiang province also.
